The Stent

I have written this piece as a response to a question from Sue.

The stent that I have had fitted is bigger than the last one.  I remember that the last one took about a week to two to settle down properly.

Whilst they are settling they can be uncomfortable whether swallowing food or just normal swallowing.  There is also discomfort and sometimes pain in the chest, especially when hiccuping (this happens because of the stent sometimes).

So I am experiencing discomfort but the benefits outweigh it and the discomfort seems to be easing gradually.   I am hoping that it will be negligible after a couple of weeks i.e. another week's time.

  1. Swordfish thank you so much, how kind of you to reply when you must be feeling in turmoil at the moment. Your reply is so helpful, its exactly as my Dad is feeling.I am praying that it will settle down and he can feel more comfortable.
I am thinking of you and your family, and hope that you can find some peace of mind. I am trying to live in the moment, its hard but when I manage it I feel more relaxed. Its a bit like trying to be a child again, and just living in the present moment and letting go. I am trying it anyway, as I just want to support my Dad in the best way I can. I hope you can feel a bit better and have a good nights sleep and a good start to tomorrow.
I cant tell you how much I admire you.
    Love Sue x

  3. I agree with the previous post from MA. You are amazing.

I started reading your blog after hearing about it on iii. I used to post about a year ago on the Barclays BB, but only read it these days. It is missing you big style at present.

I really admire your strength and honesty and feel the love and affection that comes from your friends and family.

I have never met you but feel I know you.
You are so inspiring to others.
I hope the stent settles down and you can get back to enjoying life with your wonderful family.

All the best Rumps(if I can call you that)
