A Candle Lit Surprise!!!!!!!!

It's not often that I get caught completely unaware, but today was such a day!

I was expecting Notoplip, Sushi and kids around at about 4pm and a while after I asked Kitten if they were on their way.  I was also worried because the kids had gone up the shop and it was now dark and I felt that they had been gone too long.

Kitten told me to come into back garden and when I looked up I saw that there were about 40 people all singing Christmas carols.  One by one through the candle lit darkness I recognised the people as being my friends and their children.  Not just friends that I see every week now but friends whom I haven't seen for a while and have been hoping to meet up with.

It was a deeply moving experience and one that I shall hold close to my heart.  I felt loved.

Notoplip, said that the expression on my face as I slowly recognised everyone was priceless.  Needless to say though, I was not lost for words!

A very big thank you to everyone for coming.  It was great to see friends from so many aspects of my life.  It is Christmas Eve and they have all taken time out from their own family time to share some joy with me.

I am truly humbled.

  2. Merry Christmas to you kitten and kids, I hope top form is realised over the next few days, you and the family most definitely deserve it.

Hope you don't mind me saying this, but your up there with some of the toughest men I know, and I know one or two ;-)
Mental strength is a real gift, you either possess or you don't, it cannot be taught. I have seen men of massive size, strength and fitness crumble in front of adversity of a far smaller stature then you face.

With the upmost respect and best wishes,

  4. Well, thank you for having us. Not that you had much choice! The children were excited to be singing carols by candlelight on Christmas Eve.

I'm just sorry we didn't have an auto tune device.

    Enjoy your day tomorrow all.

  11. T’was the night before Christmas
    When all through the house
    Not a creature was stirring
    Not even a mouse

    When out on the lawn
    There rose such a clatter
Swordfish had arose to see what’s the matter

Adults and children were there in the dark
Singing by candles and lanterns that sparked

When, what to his wondering eyes should appear
A garden full of friends merrily singing so dear

They came to sing carols and show their love
    Hot chocolate and mince pies
    And a few loving hugs

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
    Soon gave us to know
    We had nothing to dread

So we sang from the heart
    It was a wondrous sight

“Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight”

    xxxx
