Stenting Procedure to Go Ahead Tomorrow

I am going to be admitted to hospital tomorrow at 7:15am to have a stent fitted.

There isn't a guarantee that the procedure will be completed because the consultant has to be of the opinion that the oesophagus is narrow enough to hold it in place.  He will not know that until he has the endoscope in the passage.

If the stent is fitted then I will be kept in overnight to ensure that the stent is working and does not slip.

The thought of having something other than liquid is quite appealing, so I hope that it is a success.

  1. We have everything crossed for the procedure tomorrow and Big Boss, Aladdin, the arty one and Pocahontas all send their love and are thinking of you and if you would like something to make you smile………

Big Boss needs glasses but won’t admit it, he is known as Mr Magoo in the family as he can not make out the score in the football matches (too vain to get glasses) anyway while at work on Saturday a couple of young lads came in, Big Boss thought they might be under age and asked for ID, they willingly produced their driving licences but Big Boss could not read the small print so just said ok lads… I thought it funny that he does not have a clue how old they were. Next time you see him tell him he should have gone to spec savers. xxx

  3. Hello there, I just wanted to offer you my best wishes and lots of luck for tomorrow. I'm very sorry that you and your family are going through this horrendous time and know from experience how hard it is to deal with what you are all facing. In April of this year I lost my husband to cancer aged 37. All I can say is try not to think too far ahead as the future will take care of itself. You have the here and now, and the support of all your family and friends, and as much as you can just enjoy every precious moment and take it day by day. Really that's all any of us can do as nobody knows what their future holds. You are in my thoughts. x x

  4. Anonymous: Thank you for your words. You will be pleased to know that I am very much living the moment and that is what keeps me strong and sane. At the same time I am planning to smooth Kitten and the children's future and that also gives me a nettle to grab hold of

It is the welfare of my family that is uppermost in my mind at this point. I think from a conversation that I had with Kitten that she has been in touch with you via the McMillan website.

Finally, I want to say that I am very sorry for your loss. I hope that Kitten is able to learn from generous spirited people like you if and when the worst should happen to me.

  5. Nicola: I am very sorry to hear of your father's illness.

I am pleased that you have been able to draw some value from my blogspot. It is one of the reasons that I started to write it and it is good to see that it is now of some value in the direction.

I wish you and your family the very best.
