I had my appointment at the Marsden today and the news is good news.
They are confident that all of the tumour can be removed and that I am in a good position to make a solid recovery.
There was no re-staging of the tumour as such, I was told that they would only do that on biopsis, which is different to the experience of "annestonefamily". However, the main issue is that they believe that the cancer can be completely removed.
I will soon receive a date for the operation, which will be in the middle to the end of July.
The operation is a little more severe than I though in terms of how much will be removed, he indicated about 7-8 inches with the stomach hoisted up to the chest. To be honest, that is the least of my worries the main thing is that I can see daylight through the forest.
Time for a BBQ.
Fantastic news - been thinking of you! Well done - will raise a glass!
ReplyDeleteThanks Teach.
ReplyDeleteI raised a bottle of Budweiser (in between the sausages, kebabs and burgers).
I deserved a treat!
That is the best possible news, well done. Although most of it is down to the chemo there is a part that is down to you having such a positive position regarding the treatment. Chemo can pull you down but you have managed to keep your spirits up.
ReplyDeleteI am so please (and I will tell "Mr" when I speak to him later). I know the op seems bad but you will be surprise how quickly you will recover from it.
It won't be long beofre the 4 of us meet up for the huge celebration that you have both beaten the "monster.
Keep well and hope you have a good holiday, we had one at the end of the chemo before the op and it does help.

Thanks annestonefamily.
ReplyDeleteI can definitely see wood through the trees and even though the operation is major I am still looking forward to it.
I know that once I am through it I will have both feet on the road to recovery.
Best wishes to the entire annestonefamily
