Emotional Leverage

The wife (and kids) are getting started on decorating the bedroom in order to spruce it up for both of us and so that I have a useful retreat.  I will be joining the throng later.

Naturally, I suggested that a tele would be useful, but there was some debate over screen size.

I'm a pragmatic sort and my argument that you can move a larger screen downstairs when things return to normal was falling on deaf ears.

In these situations it is "emotional leverage" time.  You don't even have to say anything, just let the argument sit for a while.

What an accommodating wife I have!

I feel an upgrade from Sky Plus to Sky HD coming next!  Perhaps multi-room too?

There have to be a few perks to this game.

  1. aparently, the suggestion is to have a ridiculously large tv for the bedroom 'just for now', and then, when the calmer times return, the tv will be put down stairs.
Hmm! I recall a time that dearest Swordfish was choosing between Chelsea membership OR sky tv as I said no to both!
Somehow, we ended up with both!! I have a very big suspicion that once the tv is in place it will be staying and we will have an even bigger one down stairs!
    You know it's true!

  2. How do you let someone know that at the start of this incredible journey that you are travelling with them every step of the way be it in your own private thoughts or by sending the odd text or message. Swordfish loveable rogue annoying in his quest to be centre of attention at times, always there to make you smile, laugh and now cry. The DJ who could have you dancing only when he wanted you to, the puppeteer controlling his puppets, he would make you dance when your feet were hurting in high heels but you would not stop until he said so. Once the music was off so were the shoes. The DJ has recently put the decks away and joined the army; he has overthrown the General of the house (Kitten). Swordfish has now become the General his army is made from friends and family not trained for the battles ahead but travelling with him at his side into war. The battles we are facing are long and hard but we are with our new General, there to support him, hold him up high and walk with him allowing him to be the centre of attention just this once. In the words of a great leader “When the going gets tuff, the tuff gets going………”
(or was that Michael Douglas) anyway as for the large TV.......enjoy the perks of your emotional leverage my friend because after the war you will be demoted and she will be back.

Lance Corporal walking with you into battle x

  3. Swordfish, be careful what you wish for tv wise, let me hand over to The Boss to explain:

Well now home entertainment was my baby's wish
So I hopped into town for a satellite dish
I tied it to the top of my Japanese car
I came home and I pointed it out into the stars
A message came back from the great beyond

There's fifty-seven channels and nothin' on

PS Mrs Eagle went Zumba on Friday night,..... mama loves Zumba.., Sam The Eagle loves Zumba....

  4. Lance Corporal, I will be happy to give the spotlight over to Mr and Mrs Eagle to see them throw some Zumba shapes.

Maybe we can pit our talents and have some "Ice Zumba".

As for flat screen teles upstairs and downstairs....now there's a thought. Probably won't get away with that one at the moment though given that it's Wales v France on Friday night and Chelsea v Man City on Saturday. That would be working my ticket a little to hard.

Mrs Swordfish may be my kitten but is definitely a big cat if riled.
